Camp Bastion (Now known as Camp Shorabak - also known as Camp Leatherneck and until 2014) is a former British Army airbase, located northwest of the city of Lashkargah in Helmand Province. Over 450 British troops were killed and 2,100 wounded in action during OP Herrick- mostly in Helmand Province near Camp Bastion.
'I was based in Afghanistan for a period of time in 2013 and 2014. Whilst I was there I took some pictures of the blast walls that protected troops and aircraft. Below is a selection of the better ones I captures. Kindly note that I didn't have a good quality camera. All the pictures were taken either on my iPod or a cheap digital camera. These walls were painted by serving military personnel and using limited tools, paint and equipment.'
